Jason Steele joined the faculty of White Oak ISD as Director of Music and Bands in the fall of 2008. Prior to coming to White Oak, Mr. Steele enjoyed great success as the director of Bands at Pittsburg HS as well as New Diana HS. Bands under his direction have received numerous awards, and have consistently had success in all areas of UIL competition.

Mr. Steele was a graduate of Spring Hill HS. He received an Associate's Degree in Fine Arts from Kilgore College, and a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at Tyler. In 2005 he was selected as the Camp County Educator of the Year, and was selected the Phi Beta Mu Outstanding Young Bandmaster in 2006.

Mr. Steel's maintains memberships in the Texas Music Educators Association, the Association of Texas Small School Bands, the Texas Music Adjudicators Association, the National Association of Military Marching Bands, and the Texas Bandmasters Association.

Jason resides in Longview with his wife D'Anne and two children, Jordan and Travis.

Diane Corley Schrumpf joined the White Oak ISD band staff in 2004. Prior to her duties at White Oak, she held teaching positions in Pine Tree, Manistee Catholic Central High School and Newland Academy of the Arts and Sciences in Manistee, Michigan, Leblanc Middle School, Maplewood Middle School and Frasch Elementary School in Sulphur, Louisiana.

Mrs. Schrumpf holds the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from the University of Florida. She is currently pursuing the Master of Arts degree in Music Education at Stephen F. Austin State University.

Mrs. Schrumpf’s bands have consistently earned sweepstakes ratings in U.I.L. Concert and Sight-Reading competition. Her bands place highly in the Outstanding Performance Series and have also won best in class awards at the Beach Within Reach Contest in Dallas.

Mrs. Schrumpf enjoys playing her flute in the East Texas Symphonic Band, and she also teaches private flute lessons. She has three sons: Tyler, Austin and Walker who all attend White Oak Schools.
